With this game you get two in one!
Quartets: Mainly aimed at kids, a game of quartets starts with dealing all cards evenly to all players. The starting players then asks any other player for a card, say, 8B, that she is looking for to complete a quartet (and she needs to hold at least one card of the corresponing quartet, i.e. 8A, 8C, or 8D in her hand already). If the asked player holds that card asked for, he hands it over, and she gets to take another turn. Otherwise, the turn moves to the player that was asked. Any player who completes a quartet plays it out. The game ends for players wtih no cards left, and whoever collects the most quartets in total wins the game.
Super trumps: A true classic in schoolyards around the world. Cards are shuffled and evenly dealt among all players. The player holding the card numbered 'A1' starts out by picking a category (e.g. number of siblings: 3; or stamina: 4 pints) and the card's value in the category. The player with the highest value on her top card, in the category called takes the trick and collects the top cards from all other players. If you have no cards left, you're out. But if have them all, you win. Simple. Fun!

While quartets, with its very simple rules and dominant element of luck, is great for young kids, super trumps delights with the topic and whatever the individual cards represent. No time is wasted explaining complicated rules, just start to play. But beware a little bit - real buffs may know the topic or the individual cards, so they'll know which categories to pick.
There is no game like super trumps for gauging whole families or friendship circles according to whatever categories you come up with, shoe size for instance, or age, loudness or height, size, creativity, or daily calorie use... But that is just one option. Another is to devote a game to your friend's hobby, whether that is wine, bicycles, philosophical schools of thought, paintings, or tools. You may pick 4, 5, or, 6 categories, and a picture; a title and a comment; for every individual card.
You may choose an image for the back sides, a motif for the game, for instance and, if you select the tin box, then you may also choose an image for the box cover.

A4 printable rules for Super Trumps
Super trumps is a classic, simple card game. Variants of the game include bataille royale, battle, and top trumps. Card decks are usually based on a theme, such as cars, aircraft, books, wedding guests, or team mates. Each card in the pack shows a list of numerical data about the item, for a list of categories.
All the cards are dealt among the players. There must be at least two players, and at least one card for each player. The starting player (usually the player to the dealer‘s left) selects a category from his or her topmost card and reads out its value. Each other player then reads out the value of the same category from their cards. The best (usually the highest, as in the number of pints in category stamina, but in some cases the lowest, as in the number of falls during your group skiing holidays) value wins the „trick“, and the winner takes all the cards of the trick and places them at the bottom of his or her pile. The winner then looks at her/ his new topmost card, and chooses the category for the next round.
In the event of a draw the cards are placed in the center and a new category is chosen from the next card by the same person as in the previous round. The winner of that round obtains all of the cards in the center as well as the top card from each player.
Players are eliminated when they lose their last card, and the winner is the player who obtains the whole pack. Some variants of the rules allow ‚three card pick‘, whereby a player who has only 3 cards remaining is allowed to choose any of their three cards to play with. Typically, this lengthens the game considerably.
A4 printable rules for Quartets
Quartets is a classic family game. Variants include Go Fish and Happy Families.
Quartets is played with three or more players, with the aim to win all the quartets (sets of four). Each card has a number and letter (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B etc.) in the top right or left corner of the card.
The cards are shuffled and dealt evenly between all the players and the cards get held face up in a player‘s hand. The player to the dealer‘s left starts by asking another player if they had a certain card (example, card 4C) which would help the player create a quartet. If the player does have the card, then they hand it over. If the player doesn‘t, then it becomes her or his turn to ask.
When a quartet is created, or a complete quartet was dealt, then the cards creating the quartet are placed in front of the player.
The game ends when all the quartets have been created. The winner is the person with the most quartets.
